RWV Kanopy Movie Group Discussion - Third Thursday each month - online via Zoom.

Movie this Month: Chinese Couplets (2015)

Description: A Mother-Daughter’s Journey of Discovery. Part memoir, part history, part investigation, Chinese Couplets spans two centuries, three countries and four generations of women in this intimate story that reveals the impact of America‘s Chinese Exclusion Acts on filmmaker Felicia Lowe‘s family.

Lowe offers a nuanced, engaging approach to the debate that details the long-term, multi-generational effects of ethnically motivated immigration policies while imparting a cautionary tale of living with cultural pluralism in the 21st century.

Watch the movie before the discussion via the web application "Kanopy" (or other streaming service)
anytime before the discussion date and bring your comments and insights to the online discussion.

Kanopy is free through many county library websites.
