RWV Walking Group - Pendleton Park Play Area - Outdoors, In Person

Where: Meet at Pendleton Park Play Area, SW 55th Avenue and Iowa Street
Portland, OR 97221

Anyone can join. The length of the walk is about 1.5 miles at a very moderate pace. Please be prompt; The group starts walking no later than 10:05 a.m. Dogs are welcome.

Look for Janet Hummel or Kay Cashman at the park. We may split into fast and slower walkers if there are enough participants.

Description: Falls are the leading cause of injury and death among Oregonians age 65 and older. Legacy Emanuel is providing a free fall prevention workshop. The goals of the workshop are to provide older adults information and tools to help prevent a fall and to encourage living an active and healthy life. Topics covered include concussions and brain health, medication interactions, common reasons for falling, home safety, exercise, and easy steps you can take to prevent a fall. Free fall prevention items will be provided to participants.
