Creative Writing with Writing Prompts on Zoom

For more than two years, a group of North Star Village members has met monthly for creative writing sessions. Facilitated by villager Liz Kennedy, who has a background as a writer, the group follows the same format: Liz introduces a writing prompt – the start of a sentence – and participants have ten minutes to turn it into an essay or story.

The members then take turns reading their stories aloud so others can respond, not with critiques but comments about what was written. By the time the session is complete, each participant will have written and shared 4-5 pieces. Now, we’d like to invite other villagers to join us.
