Garden Home Community Library is hosting a Braver Angels Red/Blue Workshop.
5-8 conservative-leaning citizens (“Reds”) and 5-8 liberal-leaning citizens (“Blues”) will gather together for a day of structured conversations. Independents are also welcome to attend. We only ask that for the purposes of the workshop they identify as leaning either Red or Blue, or attend as observers. (When you register, someone from Garden Home Community Library will contact you for this information.)
Two moderators, trained by Braver Angels Oregon, lead the workshop, ensuring that ground rules are followed and that everyone is treated respectfully.
This is a 6-hour workshop will include four exercises and a lunch-break. Water, coffee, and tea will be provided. We recommend bringing your own lunch or lunch on your own for the lunch-break.
Braver Angels is a national organization that holds workshops, debates and public presentations throughout local communities that are designed to bridge the polarizing political divide we experience in our country. These events allow conservatives and liberals to get past the destructive stereotypes so we can have civil conversations about real issues that lead to productive problem-solving.
